Coverage

Protection for the whole household

Houston families often support kids, parents and sometimes grandparents at once. Pick a card to learn how that coverage helps a Houston family.

Indexed Universal Life Insurance involves fees and is subject to carrier terms. Cash value growth is tied to a market index but is not a direct market investment. Actual results vary. Not a bank deposit. Not FDIC insured. Not offered in California, Iowa or Minnesota.

Fixed annuities are insurance contracts subject to carrier terms and state availability. Withdrawals before age 59½ may incur tax penalties. Surrender charges may apply during the contract period. Not a bank deposit. Not FDIC insured. Not offered in California, Iowa or Minnesota.

This is a supplemental insurance policy. It is not a substitute for comprehensive major medical health insurance and does not provide Medicare or Medicaid benefits. Benefits are limited to those stated in the policy.

By life stage

Where Houston families usually start

Raising kids

Parents with young children

Nearly one in four Houston residents is under 18. Term life can replace your income until the kids are grown.

Caring for parents

Adult children planning for parents

Final expense coverage can keep end-of-life bills from landing on the next generation. Many policies use a few health questions instead of an exam.

Running a business

Family business owners

If the business depends on you or a partner, key person coverage and a funded buy-sell agreement help it keep going.

Owning a home

Homeowners

Coverage sized to the mortgage helps your family keep the home if your income stops.

Planning ahead

Retirees and pre-retirees

Keep retirement savings safe from market drops and plan the income you will live on later.

How it works

Getting started from Houston

No office visit. Houston families meet with me by phone or video, from home or the office.

  1. 1

    Reach out

Fill out the short form or call 682-254-1786.

  2. 2

    Talk it through

I ask about your goals, who depends on you, and a few health questions.

  3. 3

    See your options

I explain what fits the whole household, in words everyone can follow.

  4. 4

    The family decides

When a plan feels right, I help with the application. When it does not, that is fine too.

A common Houston question

Can I get coverage for my parents?

Often, yes, with their consent and their participation in the application. Final expense policies are built for older adults and often use a few health questions instead of an exam. I explain each step so the whole family knows what the policy does.

Questions

Houston coverage questions

Do you have an office in Houston?

No. Golden Years Protection is based in Fort Worth, and I work with Houston families by phone or video, so there is no office to drive to. Call 682-254-1786 and you speak with me at every step.

How much life insurance does a larger household need?

Count everyone who relies on your income, including parents you help support. Add debts, several years of income and final expenses, then subtract savings and existing coverage. Larger households often need more than group life at work provides.

How does final expense coverage work for a Houston parent?

It is a small whole life policy that pays for a funeral and other end-of-life bills. Coverage amounts usually fall between $5,000 and $50,000. Most ask a short list of health questions rather than an exam, and approval depends on the policy and the health of the applicant.

Key person insurance or a buy-sell agreement: what does a Houston family business need?

Key person coverage pays the company when someone it depends on dies. A buy-sell agreement spells out how remaining partners purchase a share, and a life policy can supply the money. Family businesses often set up both. Your attorney and accountant handle the legal and tax parts.

Can I get life insurance in Houston without a medical exam?

Often, yes. Many final expense policies and some term and whole life policies use health questions instead of an exam. Larger amounts usually need an exam. I explain each step by phone or video.
